After breakfast, you will be picked from your hotel and embark on your journey to the famous Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This park is mostly famous for the rare mountain gorillas despite the fact that it is also a home to other animals like bush bucks, antelopes, forest duiker and a variety of bird species. The drive to the park is incredibly scenic, passing through various local villages and the lush green countryside & hills which characterize so much of south western Uganda. This forest has one of the richest ecosystems in Africa and the diversity of species is a feature of the park. It provides habitat for a variety of mammals, birds, butterflies, frogs, chameleons, geckos and many endangered species. Floristically Bwindi is amongst the most diverse forest in East Africa, with more than 1,000 flowering plant species including trees and ferns. This is the day that you will go to track the rare mountain gorillas. After a briefing from the ranger guide, begin tracking the mountain gorillas through the ancient Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Keep an eye out for forest species such as buffaloes, elephants, black fronted duikers and bush bucks. It is a humbling experience to stand just meters from man’s distant cousins as they eat, rest, play and bond with their young ones. Follow the mountain gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest and discover their gorgeous natural habitat and the many species they share it with. Wake up at leisure and have breakfast. Visit the locals (optional), associate with them, learn more about their interesting life styles, and also buy souvenirs. After, embark on your journey to Kampala via Mbarara for the Equator experiment and photography
